Meet the author
Imbolo Mbue is the award-winning author of Behold the Dreamers, an Oprah's Book Club selection and winner of the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction. A native of Limbe, Cameroon, Mbue drew from her own experiences as an immigrant to craft a powerful story about marriage, class, and the pursuit of the American Dream. She moved to the United States for college and was inspired to write her debut novel after observing chauffeurs waiting for executives outside the Time Warner Center during the 2008 financial crisis.
