Flashman
What's it about
Ever wondered how a total scoundrel could become a celebrated war hero? Uncover the scandalous, untold story of Harry Flashman, the infamous bully from Tom Brown's School Days, and learn how he accidentally stumbled his way into fame, fortune, and the beds of countless women. You'll get a front-row seat to the British Empire's most dangerous conflicts, from the disastrous First Anglo-Afghan War to the Charge of the Light Brigade. Discover how Flashman's cunning, cowardice, and sheer dumb luck allowed him to survive impossible odds, claim credit for others' bravery, and con his way into the history books. This is history as you've never heard it before: hilarious, thrilling, and utterly shameless.
Meet the author
George MacDonald Fraser was a decorated combat veteran of the British Army's Fourteenth Army in the Burma Campaign, the longest and hardest-fought British campaign of the Second World War. This firsthand experience of military life, from its grim realities to its absurdities, directly informed his creation of the rogueish Victorian anti-hero, Harry Flashman. Fraser combined his historical scholarship with his soldier's insight to create a series that is both hilariously entertaining and a remarkably authentic portrait of the British Empire.
