Quantum-Touch
The Power to Heal (Third Edition)
What's it about
What if you could harness a powerful life-force energy to accelerate healing in yourself and others, just by using your touch? Discover a revolutionary technique that requires no special abilities, only the desire to help, and can be learned by anyone to reduce pain and inflammation. You’ll learn how to use specific breathing and body awareness techniques to raise your own energy to an extraordinary level. This summary reveals how to focus this energy, creating a powerful field of healing resonance that allows the body to heal itself at an accelerated rate, for conditions from back pain to emotional distress.
Meet the author
Richard Gordon is the visionary founder of Quantum-Touch and a pioneering figure in the field of energy healing for over forty years. His journey began after a profound experience with healer Robert Rasmussen, which inspired him to develop this simple yet powerful hands-on healing method. Gordon dedicated himself to creating a system that anyone could learn, empowering people worldwide to tap into their innate ability to accelerate healing for themselves and others.

The Script
Consider the humble tuning fork. When you strike it, it vibrates at a precise, unwavering frequency. If you bring a second, silent tuning fork close to the first, something remarkable happens. The silent fork begins to vibrate at the exact same frequency, not through forceful contact, but through a process of resonance. It simply attunes itself to the higher, more coherent vibration. This is a fundamental principle of physics. Yet, we rarely apply this logic to our own bodies. We treat pain and illness as fortresses to be sieged with brute force—cut, medicated, or suppressed. We see healing as an act of aggressive intervention, a battle to be won. What if healing is an act of resonance, where the 'healer' simply becomes a stable, coherent tuning fork, allowing the body to remember its own perfect frequency and naturally attune itself back to health?
This principle of resonant healing became the life's work of Richard Gordon. It started with a personal quest. After an encounter with a healer named Robert Rasmussen, who could seemingly make small bones in the body move with just a light touch, Gordon was faced with a phenomenon that defied his understanding. Instead of dismissing it, he became a dedicated apprentice. He spent years dissecting the method, stripping away the mysticism to find the core mechanics. He discovered that the 'magic' was in a simple, teachable process of amplifying life-force energy through breath and body awareness. Gordon realized this was a forgotten human skill. He wrote Quantum-Touch to make this skill accessible to everyone, transforming the complex art of healing into a simple act of offering resonance.
Module 1: The Core Engine of Healing
The central idea of Quantum-Touch is surprisingly simple. It rests on two universal principles: resonance and entrainment.
Think about two pendulum clocks mounted on the same wall. If their pendulums swing out of sync, they will eventually synchronize. Energy transfers through the wall until they swing together. This is entrainment. The same thing happens with sound. If you pluck the G string on a guitar, the G string on a nearby piano will begin to vibrate. This is resonance. Gordon argues this is biology. It's life.
So here's the first key insight. Healing is a process of resonance the client's body initiates. The practitioner's role is to become the dominant, harmonizing frequency in the room. They use specific techniques to raise the vibration in their own hands to a very high level. When they place those hands on or near a person in pain, the client's body naturally resonates with this higher frequency. It entrains to it.
And this leads to the second insight. The body's own innate intelligence directs the healing process. The practitioner is simply providing a high-energy field. The client's body, which Gordon calls the "true healer," uses that energy to do whatever is necessary. It might realign bones. It might reduce inflammation. It might calm a racing mind. The practitioner trusts the body's wisdom to use the energy for its highest good. This is why Gordon says you can't really do it "wrong." The body knows exactly what to do.
From this foundation, we get to the practical application. The practitioner's primary tools are focused intention and amplified breath. Gordon calls this "running energy." It starts with love. A fundamental, preconditional love is the foundation. The simple intention to help is enough. The practitioner then uses specific breathing patterns, like a 4-4 breath or a 1-4 breath, to amplify their life-force energy. This is like using a bellows to stoke a fire. The breath turns a gentle warmth into a powerful, focused current of energy. The practitioner learns to feel this energy as a tangible sensation in their hands—tingling, heat, or vibration. Where their attention goes, the energy follows.
Module 2: The Practitioner's Toolkit
We've covered the "why." Now, let's turn to the "how." Quantum-Touch provides a set of core techniques that are both simple and profound.
The most foundational technique is called "sandwiching." It's exactly what it sounds like. You create an energy field by placing your hands on either side of the area that needs attention. For a sore knee, one hand goes on the front, one on the back. For a headache, you might place your hands on either side of the head. This creates a powerful resonant field that flows directly through the targeted tissue. It’s a simple, versatile starting point for almost any session.
However, sometimes the pain moves. A client might say the ache in their shoulder has now shifted to their elbow. This is a crucial piece of feedback. It means the body is readjusting. So, the next technique is essential. You must learn to "chase the pain" by following the client's sensations. This is a sign of progress. The body is guiding you. By moving your hands to the new location, you continue to support its self-healing process. This requires a constant dialogue with the person you're helping. You have to ask, "What are you feeling now?" and adapt.
Building on that idea, the sensations in your own hands become a vital feedback loop. The practitioner's hands act as a diagnostic tool, revealing the state of the client's energy. Gordon identifies several patterns. A "blocked pattern" feels like very little sensation at first, slowly building over time. This often corresponds to chronic issues or diseased organs. An "intense pattern," where you feel strong energy right away, usually relates to acute injuries or a highly receptive person. A "full pattern" is when the sensation in your hands suddenly stops. This indicates the client's body has absorbed all the energy it needs for that moment. Learning to read these signals tells you how to proceed and when to stop.
Finally, all of this is powered by one non-negotiable rule. You must maintain the breathing techniques 100% of the time during a session. This commitment is for your own well-being. The breathing amplifies the energy for the client. It also protects you, the practitioner, from feeling drained. It ensures you are acting as a channel for universal life-force, not giving away your personal energy. In fact, many practitioners report feeling more energized after a session, not less.
