Amanda Peters is an award-winning writer of Mi’kmaq and settler ancestry whose debut novel, The Berry Pickers, won the 2023 Barnes & Noble Discover Prize. A graduate of the Master of Fine Arts program at the Institute of American Indian Arts, her writing is informed by her family's experiences as Mi'kmaq berry harvesters in Maine. Peters draws from these deeply personal stories and her ancestral heritage to explore powerful themes of family, identity, and loss with profound empathy and grace.
